Y 7/8 Mangatepopo Camp
Our Y 7/8 group of 46 students and 16 adults spent a wonderful week at the Mangatepopo Camp School last week. Pictured here is Karly Sinclair-Carroll and Holly Ormond beside the Emerald Lakes at the half way point of the magnificent Tongariro Crossing. The crossing took the group eight hours and the conditions were outstanding - clear skies and a light wind, except at the top of the crossing where the wind got up and it was a case of windbreakers and wollen hats on. The hot pools at Tokaanu were a welcome way to end the day.
Other highlights for the group were visits to the Army Museum and the Whakapapa Visitors Centre, the Lake Rotopounamu walk, caving, rock climbing, and of course the obligatory final evening concert!
Thanks go to Mr Smith and Mrs Dalley for organising the camp and for the wonderful parent support.
