Mathex Teams Produce the Goods!
It was a wonderful night in Wanganui on 2 September as four teams were placed at the annual Wanganui Mathex competition. With an average thirty eight teams per section, our students should feel justifiably proud of their achievements.
Our champion Year 5 Mathex team replay the form that
saw them take out the Year 5 title
at the Wanganui Mathex competition recently. From left: Patrick Takurua, Ben

Mathex works
like this: Students in teams of four are asked to solve twenty maths problems
(given one at a time) within a thirty minute period. You don't get a new
question until you get your current question correct. You can have as many
attempts as you like or you can pass. If you pass you can't go back to that
question later.
